If you have already created a system, but have encountered challenges and questions, this guide can help you address them. Even if your system is working smoothly, you will find resources and recommendations here that will help you move to the next level of data collection and analysis.
These videos demonstrate best practices in sexual orientation and gender identity data collection. They address common questions and issues that arise for frontline and clinical staff when asking patients about their sexual orientation and gender identity. We hope these videos can provide a valuable training tool for health care staff looking for sample language and best practices.

The pamphlet explains: why your organization is asking about SOGI, what each SOGI term means, and how the information will be kept confidential. The pamphlet comes in several languages.
This tool provides recommended questions for asking patients their sexual orientation and gender identity in electronic health records as well as some key terms and their definitions, all translated into Spanish.
This module provides an overview of LGBT health disparities, demographics, and terminology, as well as key strategies for bringing high quality care to LGBT people at health centers and other health care organizations. Strategies for collection of sexual orientation and gender identity data in clinical settings will be addressed. Participants will also learn about creating LGBT-inclusive environments of care and about the intersections of LGBT health, population health and team-based care.
